The Everest Scholarship is an annual college scholarship given to graduating student athletes at Eagle Valley High School (EVHS) in Gypsum, Colorado. It is sponsored by the N.O.D. Everest Foundation, a 501(c)3 entity that was founded by Dr. Jon Kedrowski to benefit a handful of philanthropic and educational pursuits.
This scholarship is made possible through funding from the annual N.O.D. Summer Basketball Camp held at EVHS every summer since 2006, which was also founded and is directed by Dr. Jon Kedrowski.
In the spring of 2024, the Foundation will be offering the 10th Annual Everest Scholarship worth $750 and renewable annually for 4 years, as long as scholarship renewal requirements are met. The initial scholarship requirements are:

Every summer, The N.O.D. Basketball Academy hosts basketball camps for youth, featuring high school and college coaches. Proceeds go to our non-profit and benefit a graduating high school senior for college with the Everest Scholarship.
Highlights of the camp include: instruction from high school and college-level coaches, friendly competitive drills and games, giveaways from sponsors, beginner to advanced skill work, and young player development through games and contests with an emphasis on ball-handling, individual and team defense, rebounding, and shooting.
Mentoring to youth through visits to schools locally, regionally, and nationally. This includes visits to classrooms and for school assemblies to educate our kids into making the right choices. The focus is motivation, teamwork, goal setting, and working hard in sports or in the classroom, which translates over into real life.
We have also recently launched a study abroad program for Colorado Mountain College, taking young men and women to the Everest region to support several of our ongoing non-profit service projects in partnership with the Sherpa Foundation.
Dr. Jon Kedrowski is a board member and active participant in the projects of the non-profit the Sherpa Foundation. Past projects were centered on raising funds following the 2015 magnitude 7.9 earthquake and rebuilding efforts and need-based on-going assistance in the Everest Region of Nepal.
Most recently, Jon has launched several fundraising campaigns to go along with his expeditions to Nepal and Pakistan, to raise money for the Sherpa and porter communities that have been devastated by the financial impacts of the income loss due to the COVID pandemic.
